Today at MPOW, we had a divisional faculty meeting. This was a "party" meeting, in that no business was conducted. Rather, we were to expound on our colleagues: give them an award, write a comment (in the style of our report cards), do a Top Ten List, etc. We'd drawn names earlier, and I was pretty pleased with my choice.

When the person who'd drawn my name got up, I was relieved; we knew each other rather well, so there wouldn't be that awkward "what can they possibly say about me without sounding trite or impersonal" stuff.

How wrong I was!

She did a song (to the tune of "King Tut") that contained this line:
    hippie chick from Cambridge
Getting my hometown wrong is one thing, but "hippie"??? Moi???
