Vacation: the good, the bad and the ugly

I just got back from a week's vacation in Maine (a house on Little Cranberry Island, to be precise) and thought I'd share the good, the bad, etc.

The good
  • Little internet and cell phone availability (so you can really get away from it all)
  • Lobster
  • Very friendly people
  • Sea air
  • Local restaurant, library, artists
  • Close to NEHarbor, SWHarbor and Bar Harbor

The bad
  • Little internet and cell phone availability (difficult when trying to coordinate with people and/or when something major happens at work)
  • The ferry on/off island stops running pretty early
  • Really pre-thinking your meals
The ugly
  • Eight.Hour.Drive. (one way)
  • Driving through carwash level rain to get home
The incredible

I have a friend who left Los Angeles to live on Little Cranberry Island. He has lived there for several years now! sounds beautiful..

It's beautiful there. Worth the drive? It would be to me, but I don't know how you feel about these things. *G* That rain really was pounding!

I'm glad that "good" and "incredible" outnumbered the bad, and that you had such a great time. :0)
