Notes from Mt. Bookpile

Not bad, given all the upheaval from the move: 48 books this quarter!

  • On Hitler's Mountain, Irmgard Hunt; fascinating look at a girl growing up during the Nazi era, literally in Hitler's backyard

Children's/Young Adult

  • Dare To Repair, Julie Sussman and Stephanie Glakas-Tenet, Thing Two's idea of a housewarming present... no tools, though
  • An incomplete education, Judy Jones, absolutely embarrassing, the things I don't know!

I dunno. "Wednesday Wars" is going to sweep the awards. Funniest damn thing I read outside of "Diary of a Wimpy Kid". I suggest you give it another go.

Fuse, obviously we have different opinions (mine being that it wasn't a memorable book, unlike, say, Skullduggery Pleasant, Mysterious Benedict Society or The Secret History of Tom Trueheart). I don't re-read (no time, too many books on Mt. Bookpile to plow through before the next influx hits); we'll just have to see if, come January next, I'm saying "huh? which book won?" or not.

Your review was clearly written just after reading the book - Readers, go to Fuse's site, read the review and decide for yourselves.
