It's almost time for me to pack and head for ALA's Midwinter Conference (this year, Seattle). I'll be gone from home Thursday - Wednesday - not a good thing. This time, because of the length of time away, I've hired a cat sitter. He won't be our old sitter, but The Boys seemed to like him when he stopped by the other week.
Packing requires thought: do I have enough outfits? I'm going to the opera - how dressy? And then there's plane reading. Some people (like Chris) are bringing Weighty Tomes. I'm more a "magazines that you can toss when you get there" or "letters you need to write" person. After all, I'll be getting books there, so why bring my own?
