Book Threads

I've been thinking about this for a while: what books are linked in your mind? I don't mean obvious ones, like sequels or Peter Pan/Cap't. Hook, but less obvious ones. Here are a couple of threads:
  • Children of Men, P.D. James; England, England, Julian Barnes; Never Let Me Go, Kazuo Ishiguro.
  • The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time, Mark Haddon; The Speed of Dark, Elizabeth Moon

Hm, I don't think I have any that qualify. Pride and Prejudice always makes me think of Jame Eyre, and Jane Eyre makes me think of the Eyre Affair (Jasper Fforde), but those are pretty obvious.

In my mind Bridge to Terabithia is always linked with Tuck Everlasting. I read them one after the other in 3rd grade, and they both had lovely Scholastic paperback covers in those lovely mid-70s color range of red, orange, and yellow. So I think the close reading and color similarity leaves them forever a pair in my mind.

Karen, I always linked Bridge with The Secret Language... now I'll have to think about Tuck being part of that thread!
