YALSA Blog says that libraries are not supermarkets. This reminded me of my mantra: it's about the patrons (including messing with Dewey to make it easier).
It also makes me wonder why is it so difficult for librarians (school, public, academic, whatever) to embrace change, to get over the Way Things Were Done. Change is hard, granted, but how you can not move forward (particularly in light of what happened at MS129, Goucher, Cushing, etc.) just seems self-defeating.
